Refunds & re-runs
A checkup costs $9 and runs against a live database, which means it can fail for reasons that are not your fault. This is what we do about that.
Re-running is free
If a checkup fails partway through, you are not charged for anything. The scan either produces a report or it does not, and payment happens afterwards, on a report you can already see in preview. Run it again as many times as you need.
If the connection drops mid-scan, the usual cause is a connection limit, an idle timeout or a restart on the database side. Nothing was changed in your database. Try again, ideally against a replica or at a quieter moment.
Checks that could not run are not failures
Managed hosts restrict different things, so some checks cannot run everywhere. When that happens the checkup finishes anyway and tells you which checks were skipped and why, rather than throwing the whole assessment away. A report that says 18 checks completed and 2 were unavailable is a working report, and is not grounds for a refund on its own.
If so much was skipped that the report is not useful on your host, that is grounds for a refund. Say so and we will refund it.
When we refund
Within 14 days of payment, for any of these, no argument:
- The report is unusable, empty, or obviously wrong about your database.
- You paid and the report did not unlock.
- Too many checks were unavailable on your host for the assessment to be worth it.
- You paid twice for the same scan.
- It simply did not tell you anything useful.
The last one is deliberate. The product is a judgement call about whether the findings were worth the money, and that judgement is yours, not ours.
How to ask
File a ticket with the report link, or reply to your receipt. You do not need to explain yourself. Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with, through Paystack, and typically take 5 to 10 working days to appear depending on your bank.
What a paid report gets you
Every finding with its explanation, fix and evidence, every row of every data table, every fix in one .sql file, and PDF, markdown and CSV export. One payment covers one scan, and that report stays available to you permanently once unlocked. A later scan of the same database is a new checkup.
Duplicate and failed payments
A payment only unlocks a report after we have verified it with Paystack directly, so a browser that says it worked when it did not cannot leave you paid and locked out. If a payment is taken and the report stays locked for more than a few minutes, that is a bug on our side: tell us and we will unlock it or refund it the same day.
